That said, thank you for maintaining this very clear support page regarding versions: I find that I always hold off for a long time (months) updating my MacOS to latest version and the only reason that I have to do that is Capture One. Please try to be more aggressive about supporting newest version of MacOS. I pay the monthly fee for Capture One primarily for tethering it's extremely important to my photography. (1) Another plea for more aggressive testing with newer versions of MacOS: Guess I'll have to buy the recommended Star Tech Active Extension with external AC power to test it out. My question is - does adding 2 or 3 connections reduce the power in the cable enough to knock out the tether connection even if the 2 addition cables are very short and I'm using an active extension (though not powered with an AC connection)? I'm hoping my relatively new old Tether Tools Active Extension Female USB 3 to Male Right Angle USB # cables will work fine after all the software/firmware updates primarily because I like to have a short (1 meter) tether cable attached to the cameras and a very short (10cm) Male USB C to Male USB 3 cable - all to allow for easy breakaway in case people (me included) trip over the cables. Sometimes this would work until the connection broke down again.ĭuring the Covid-19 lockdown, I updated to the latest version of Capture One 20, updated firmware on all my Nikon D850 and the latest version of Catalina as well as buying new tether cables - specifically Tether Tools TetherPro USB C Male to Right Angle Micro USB C to connect cameras and laptops directly with no additional short cables. I'd restart the camera and software, swap cables, sap cameras, swap laptops. I have been suffering constant interruptions to my workflow with very erratic tether connection between my cameras and laptops.
